Auckland and New Zealand’s emerging sport performance innovation sector is in good heart.
Results from the recent Sport Performance Innovation Forum survey are outstanding and show a community wanting to work together. Delegates rated total satisfaction at 98% with over three quarters (76%) of respondents saying they were ‘very satisfied’ overall.
Some of the survey comments include:
"A very well-orchestrated, planned and attended Forum."
"As a first time attendee, it seems like you have created a solid event with loads of potential for growing business and connections."
“One of the primary aims of the forum was to provide new connections for all participants and create further opportunities for collaboration in the sport performance area,” says Bridget Davey, Auckland Tourism, Events and Economic Development (ATEED) Growth Programme Specialist. “We are thrilled that 71% of respondents said they made new connections or commercial leads that are likely to lead to business deals and/or partnerships in the future.
Additionally, 63% of respondents said they were ‘extremely likely’ to recommend the forum to others in the industry, and 81% reported that the forum encouraged industry collaboration.
The forum brought together researchers, businesses and sport performance experts to hear international keynote speakers and to participate in workshops on nutrition, digital and materials. The forum also included a showcase session profiling some of the latest innovations coming to market to improve athletes’ performance, from the everyday weekend warrior to those competing at an elite level.
