For Auckland, along with most of the rest of the country, daily life is unaffected, and are open for business.

New Zealand remains a safe a place to visit although there have been a number of aftershocks following the quakes of November 14. The most serious damage is concentrated in Kaikoura, at the top of the South Island. The roads in and out of Kaikoura are closed and power is out in places, however, visitors in the areas are being evacuated.
