What or who inspired you to get involved in the screen industry and how did you decide what part you wanted to work in?
My introduction to the film industry was working on a couple of reality TV Shows - America's Next Top Model and The Biggest Loser. At the start, I was unsure of which direction I wanted to go in. I just enjoyed the intense nature of the industry and working with interesting people. It's the people I like most.
Tell us about some of your favourite roles to date?
I've worked in so many roles from runner / driver / production / unit / locations. It's hard to pick a favourite, I just like the variety that the film industry offers. I've looked after some very interesting directors from all over the world.
Give us a rundown of your typical work week?
No two weeks are the same as I mainly do TV commercials. Prep days are usually 10 hours and a shoot day can reach 14 hours.
Where do you see yourself in 4-7 years?
I'll continue with location scouting to build more files and contacts. It’s a valuable resource.
What would be your best piece of advice for other young people starting their first role in the industry?
Just get involved at a practical level, meet people and network.
What is the vibe in the screen industry across Auckland now?
